seems to be a sub-theme of this new set.

Quicksilver Dragon might be 1 more mana, but it is an improvement over Silvery Wyvern.
Exalted Angel is a HUGE improvement over Warrior Angel
Silvos is a big improvement over Carnassid.

Kind of odd no?

What I think is odd is how Wizards keeps releasing older rares with new twists - Grinning Demon, is probably the greatest example - you lose 1 more life per turn, but he's also stronger.
