Enforcer-Go for Odessey Block Constructed (OBC)
I know that everyone and their mother has tried to make Erhnam Djinn work in a deck and get around it's Forestwalk draw back. ErhnamGeddon was great in it's day but that's the only deck I've seen it work well.
Now here it comes again, only it's many years later and the Djinn has found itself in a whole new environment. Maybe it finally has a chance to make it back to the big times,.....maybe.
Introducing: "Enforcer-Go" ala' Aggro-Control
4 Erhnam Djinn
2 Mystic Enforcer
4 Aether Burst
4 Circular Logic
4 Compulsion
4 Deep Analysis
4 Grip of Amnesia
4 Life Burst
4 Obsessive Search
3 Vengeful Dreams
10 Island
4 Nantuko Monastery
2 Riftstone Portal
4 Skycloud Expanse
4 Sungrass Prairie
Card by Card Analysis/Justification:
Erhnam Djinn:
In a Forest-less deck, this guy simply rocks. With all of the card drawing, I seem to have no problem fing green mana to cast it, even early! Question here: If I have two or more Ernnies in play, do I have to target different creatures for each one I have on the board? hmmmn.
Mystic Enforcer:
I play him only when I can back him up against removal via Innocent Blood or Chainer's Edict. By the time I have to play him, my opponent is on the run, so I don't have to protect for long.
Aether Burst:
A given in this deck. I need to clear the path to victory.
Circular Logic:
I can reach to a pretty full graveyard rather quickly so this lil' gem is a must.
Compulsion:
Quick way to "Threshold", besides, that's how I get to pitch Riftstone Portal along with Madness tricks for Logic and Obsessive Search.
Deep Analysis:
I need to never miss the first 7 or so turns in land-drops, ever. DA helps me out beyond turn 4 AND, it nets me cards for Compulsion or Vengeful Dreams or just the right answer for that next "Clutched" situation. I wish it were an Instant. Did I mention that it only has one blue in it's mana cost? (Concentrate has UU).
Grip of Amnesia:
Not sure about this one except that everyone I know seems to depend on them reaching "Threshold" and it's an automatic cantrip
. The jury's still out on this one.
Life Burst:
Quite annoying this card is, eh? I'm sure that this deck needs it except that this deck is slow and can die quickly to an OBC style Sligh deck. It also helps with the Flashback cost of Deep Analysis.
Obsessive Search:
~See Complusion~
Vengeful Dreams:
A Great removal spell. It helps me get rid of big nasty's like Beast and Elephant tokens and fills up my graveyard too.
Nantuko Monastery:
It's part of my beef patrol, it beats Innocent Blood and Chainer's Edict and has First Stike. An essential player in this deck.
Please, if you have any suggestions that will make this deck viable in the upcomming OBC season, feel free to make some. As most of you know, I almost always play "Net.decs" so this is my stand on making my own variation on a crappy archetype known as: "Enforcer-Go"
Thanks in advance for your help!
