Fast-food cashier gives change on phony $200 bill

DANVILLE, Ky. - Police are looking for a customer who succeeded in paying for a $2 order at a fast-food restaurant with a phony $200 bill featuring a picture of President George W. Bush and a depiction of the White House with a lawn sign saying, "We like broccoli."

Authorities say a cashier at Dairy Queen gave the culprit $198 in real money as change Sunday evening. The cartoonish bill was accepted despite having Bush on one side and an oil well on the other.

Because there is no actual $200 currency, the culprit could face a charge of theft by deception but not of counterfeiting.

Theft by deception my ass. He should get to keep the $198 and get his $200 dollar bill back. Dairy Queen hired a stupid person. This means that they too are stupid. For being stupid, they deserve to lose $198. Think of it as a stupidity tax.

That must be one retarded employee if he doesn't even LOOK at a $200 bill or suspect why such a bill was being used for $2 of food!

Even if he is a stupid person it is mainly the stores fault. It is usualy store policy that any bill $50 or more is checked by the manager. So either the manager was a complete idiot or the Store chain itself was.


Everyone looks at Daggertooth in wide eyed wonder.

I can just see it...

I'll bet that the customer wasn't actually planning to rip off the DQ at first.

He just wanted to show off his funny little bill.

Then, a feeling of "Holy sh**, he's actually making change," creeps over the guy as -- speechless -- he takes the money and wanders dazedly into the cool January evening, two bulges in his pocket, licking his chocolate-coated ice cream cone.
