I just came back from a weeks vacation at Cedar Point on the north coast of central Ohio. My wife and I took the kiddies (4 & 7 yr old) and we all had a great time.

It's got mad roller coasters that I've not ever seen before. I don't know the names of them but one was the kind where your feet are dangling and the tracks are above your head (didn't ride that one).

Another was the kind where you stand up and get straped in and it has twists and cork screws (didn't ride that one either).

There were like three regular train car types but had really twisted, mangled tracks (ahem, didn't ride any of those).

I think there were 3 classic wooden roller coasters called Blue Streak, Mean Streak and Gemini (a dual roller caoster). Nope, not these either.

However, I did spend one night playing magic at this place called "The Hero Zone". It was cool, it had a long retail counter, four video stations for games like "Halo" and three rooms to game; the front retail area, a lounge with couches and lamps (that's where the RPG action was happening and a back room with about 8 bingo game sized tables for tournaments.

We drafted 7th edition because the store was out of Onslaught product. We played swiss rounds and I went 1-1 with a U/W crappy deck. The guy across from me was drafting U/W and got an Opposition and a Temporal Adept. There were 6 of us and 4 of us drafted blue, OY!

I had a great time, I fit right in in all of about 3 min. from the time I arrived. It just goes to show you that there are a lot of cool .\\agic players out there.

Kudos to David Baum for running a great shop!

Any Ohio dudes out there know this place?

Apollo's the only Ohio dude I know, but he's in England now.

You left your family to play Magic on your vacation? How lucky are you... :p

It was a trade-off, My wife went shopping one night and we stayed at the motel swimming pool. It was nice though.

Never heard of the Hero Zone. I used to work in Sandusky. Don't go to Cedar Point my wife doesn't like the rides. But we just spent a day at Six Flags with our grandaughter and another couple and their grandchildren. It was a lot of fun. Nothing like watching a horriblely campy Batman on jetskies show with a 5 year old who thinks its real. I was laughing so hard I was crying.

The store owner said he's been in business for a while but just moved to his new location (Perkins Ave.) a year ago.

I don't know the place, but I do know Cedar Point, the pride of Northern Ohio. ;)

I can't believe you didn't go on the coasters, but for the record, here are their names:

Dragster (biggest fastest steepest in the world)
Millenium Force (second to above)
Magnum (the other tall one)
Raptor (dangly-feet)
Mantis (standing)
Corkscrew (Normal, upside-down roller-coaster, one of the first metal ones)
Iron Dragon (another below-the track one)
Blue Streak, Gemini, Mean Streak (wooden ones that hurt your neck)

I was just there in early June... the Dragster was closed, it broke my heart.
