As a Bears fan, over the years I developed a strong hatred of Brett Favre -- but only in games against my beloved Bears. How can you not respect a competitor like Favre?

It'll be a long time before somebody fills the gap that Favre leaves in the NFL...

The man was a true competitor, no doubt. I've never met someone who didn't enjoy watching him play.

However, I take all retirement news with a grain of salt. I don't think he'll be back, but I wouldn't be surprised either way.
