What happened on March 16, 1926?
  1. Dr. Robert H. Goddard successfully launched the world's first flight of a liquid-propelled rocket (TomB's guess)
  2. Over 3 million British coal miners went on strike, causing the sudden stoppage of the industry (Apollo's guess)
  3. Jerry Lewis was born (correct answer)
    [/list=1]

The following is analysis, not blame or accusations :)

This was a most interesting question. sageridder guessed first and from his answer, I would guess he did a search and came up with Goddard and Jerry Lewis. He decided to take a chance and guessed Jerry Lewis, which was the correct answer and put him out of the final guessing round. This was more strengthened by TomB's answer, who DID give Goddard as his initial guess. And then when EricBess and Apollo chose that as their final answer when TomB chose Jerey Lewis, well, TomB pretty much had a blowout round.

    Scores:
TomB gained 8 points (+1 for initial, +1 for final, +1 for both, +3 for correct, +2 for others guessing his) for a grand total of 50 points.

sageridder gained 3 points (+1 for initial, +2 for getting it correct) for a total of 43 points.

Apollo gained 3 points (+1 for initial, +1 for final, +1 for both) for a total of 37 points.

EricBess gained 1 point (+1 for final) for a total of 26 points.

Wonka stayed pat with 2 points.

Congrats to TomB and thanks to all that played! New game when I come back from vacation.
