[Captain Caveman]

I've been working on a new "Beast" Tribe deck. I'm pretty sure
this is the decklist I'm going to use tomorrow but I open to
suggestions. Its kind of slow but I can't figure out how to
speed it up. Its been awhile since we've played so I'm sure
I've overlook some great new cards. But what are they?

Tribe notion:
Has anyone noticed how many Elephants we have now? Awe,
the Elephant tribe.

and lets not forget the Insects, Horrors and Centaurs. Man, its a
Tribe haven. Idea's welcome!

Deck 2, try Life/death.

I use it with blast/spirit in a deck and it rocks.

mana efficient creatures (read mana broken creatures) don't cost much life to get back, and late game land swarm doesn't suck either.

Aluren could definitely speed up the deck - try it in place of the library and the gaes's embrace...

I don't have enough 3cc and under creature spells to make
Aluren effective. But I appericate the suggestion.


I played the G/W version last night and it was a lot of fun. It
was kind of slow but the Wake help me out every game that it
got/stayed in play. I really can't use the Phantom Nishoba like
it should be used(life gain from perm's not allowed)so I'm
going to take it out. The deck is pretty weak against fliers too.
I'll probably need to add a Spidersilk Armor. Frostbeast + Gaea's
Embrace is great.

I'm going to work on my Elephant Tribe next. I don't have any
Call of the Herds but there are a lot of other good Phant spells
and creatures.

Its looking pretty slow too. Maybe I should try something else. If
they had some interesting abilities than it might be ok but that
list looks pretty weak.


Maybe I'll give up on that and do Horror's(can I say that?

I had a friend with an Elephant deck, and as you can imagine it needs some form of mana acceleration. We decided on Gaea's Touch (play an extra basic forest each turn) and Gaea's Bounty because the Elephants we liked best were Rogue Elephant and Bull Elephant.

Make sure you have some Giant Grows in there to make Trumpeting Armadon look like creature removal.

Elephant Graveyard?

I'd love to play Elephant Graveyard but I don't have any.

The only problems with an Elephant Tribe is the fact that they
don't really have any special ability and mana acceleration is
kind of limited in this format.(the non-tribe spells are limited
to one of's)
