And I`m STILL playing mono...

So Type-2 is dominated by gold cards, and Extended by dual lands. And the best card in both formats is Wax/Wane.
So WHY am I still playing two mono decks?

RDW 2: The Big Red Machine

4 Rogue Kavu
2 Skittish Kavu
3 Orcish Artillery
2 Flowstone Overseer

4 Seal of Fire
3 Shock
3 Scorching Lava
3 Hammer Of Bogardan
3 Rhystic Lightning
2 Urza`s Rage
2 Mage`s Contest
2 Cave-In

4 Assault/Battery

1 Forest
2 Shivan Oasis
4 Karplusan Forest
4 Rishadan Port
12 Mountain

SB
4 Earthquake
2 Squee
2 Boil
1 Flashfires
3 Tranquility
3 Saproling Burst

H2k 2: What Lies Beneath

4 Carnophage
4 Sarcomancy
4 Dauthi Horror
4 Dauthi Slayer
4 Phyrexian Negator

4 Duress
4 Demonic Consulatation
4 Unmask
4 Hatred
2 Cursed Scroll
1 Ashes To Ashes
1 ??? (Kaervek`s Spite? Pox?)

4 Lake Of The Dead
16 Swamp

In particular, I think the last four spells in What Lies Beneath are totally flexible responses to the metagame (they are where the Rituals were) so any good ideas are welcomed. Lake gvies me 6 mana on the third turn, so I can play something really big to Consult for if necessary so long as it`s a high-impact spell like Ashes To Ashes.

I am still playing my t2 mono white rush/control deck to good success (not lost a game yet - even though I havent played after SB).
I posted the deck a couple of weeks ago.
Rebel chain + best 2/2s of the game + meekstones.

In the meanwhile I see many deck running at least 1 meekstone.

As single color I really think White is the strongest(rebels, armageddon, wrath and others), and I am happy, since it is my favourite color.

My vote for your missing spell is Kaervek's Spite. Maindeck, that is. You can side it for Pox if the situation warrants it.

Mono-U T2
4 Opt
4 Accumulated Knowledge
3 Fact or Fiction
2 Brainstrom
1 Gush
1 Boomerang
1 Wash Out
1 Rishidan Pawnshop
2 Dominate
4 Counterspell
4 Memory Lapse
2 Thwart
2 Foil
2 Misdirection
4 Daze
3 Air Elemental
1 Dust Bowl
1 Rath's Edge
18 Island

SB
4 Chill
4 Submerge
1 Misdirection
1 Teferi's Response
1 Sky Diamond
1 Island
1 Millstone
2 Mana Short

It's ok, the one-ofs are great, but I don't want to play Mystical Tutor to fetch them, so all the card drawing helps. Pawnshop protects the Elementals, and keeps me from decking against another control decks. Not the best deck I've ever made, as Rebels kills it off a good draw. More Wash Outs would obviously be necessary, but Nether-Go with Decree is a much better option for dealing with that sort of a metagame.

Big Red
4 Shock
4 Seal of Fire
4 Rhystic Lightning
2 Hammer of Bogardan
4 Blood Oath (amazing)
4 Earthquake
2 Ghitu Fire
4 Ancient Hydra
4 Flowstone Overseer
2 Lithophage
2 Jaemdaye Tome
4 Sandstone Needle
4 Rishidan Port
17 Mountian

SB
3 Flashfires
3 Boil
4 Flowstone Slide (rebels)
1 Lithophage
4 Pillage/Tec Break

I don't have any Urza's Rages, and Mage's contest has been a severe disappointment in this controllish deck. It can win on turn 3 off a Rhystic, Hammer, or a few Shocks/Seals on turn 2 (1st turn Needle) and a turn 3 Oath after their draw step, but before the main phase). Plus, Hydra, Lithophage and (generally) Overseer all kill Blastoderm/Jade Leech, and the Overseer slaughters Fires if he is able to hit the field. Burst is obviously a problem from Fires, but counter decks have a real problem with all the burn, esp. when you Oath after their FoF resolves. Fun overall.
