"The Deck" used to be the answer to everything... back in the days of yore (like up to 95 or 96). Not sure how it's doing today, although from Oscar Tan's articles, it seems to be holding it's own.

I think he meant a card that affected everything, not matter what it was (and/or you could put it in any deck since it was an artifact). The various Lords before only affected their certain creature type...

Probably because currency is "backed" by the issuing country, whereas goods are just between the parties in question. But for purposes here, they're pretty much the same thing, unless train elaborates more.
