If a card is reprinted in a set that is legal in a tournament can I use the older version of it if I don't have the newer one?

    And...

What is the deal with having marked cards! what is considered marked?

Yes. You can use any version of a card as long as it has the same (English) name as a legal card.

A card is considered marked if it can be easily identified from the rest of the deck without looking at the front. If a card is in sleeves, the sleeves will be examined to determine whether a card is marked.

This is where Sharpie's world conspiracy comes in... Markers unite!!!...

Actually be careful on using older version cards... they're playab;e and judges will go by the oracle for the most up-to-date wording of the card, but your opponent may try to have you play it the way it's worded, and vice-versa, if it's to their advantage...

Just something to be catious about...

But if you ever even wonder, just call a judge over and they can clear things up for you...

If your opponent (in a sanctioned tournament) ever tried to make you play with any wording other than the current Oracle, not counting any changes that may be made during the tournament, then they should receive a penalty of some sort. If they knew that the Oracle text is different from the printed text and lied about it, that's a Cheating-Fraud and a DQ.
