i just registered. I've been playing Magic since late fall in 2005. my girlfriend used to play but then stopped for some reason. she has a deck but doesn't play very much, but i first found out how to play from her and her sister.
i still consider myself new but i have a love for casual play and type 1. i love the variety and the wide amount of cards and strategies that i don't know about.
my current 'main' deck started as a way to use the Avatar of Woe that my girlfriend gave me. it extended to be a bit of a sacrifice heavy golgari deck.
to use a yugioh reference, Avatar of woe is the Dark Magician of my deck. its not the main thing there but its the thing that often shows up and in the opponent's face and the deck is inspired by its speed via the graveyard and creature destruction
