I know...

Fires is probably dead and I should trying something new but
here's my Nov. Type II idea.

4 Nimble Mongoose
3 Flametongue Kavu
4 Thornscape Battlemage
4 Call of the Herd

I really like Fires in new T2.

Fires was good becaue it had resistance to targetted removal (Burst and Derm) resitance to Wrath (haste and Burst) and resistance to blockers (Wurm and Burst).

Adding in the Odyssey flashback monsters gives you resistance to removal because you can replay the creature, resistance to Wrath (Haste and flashback) and resistance to COUNTERS (flashback) so long as your build adds in adequate anti-blocking trample creautures (particularly concerned by Lynx) then you are looking strong for the new field.

4 Birds Of Paradise
4 Llanowar Elf
4 Kavu Titan
4 Thornscape Battlemage
2 Flametongue Kavu
2 Shivan Wurm
1 Shivan Dragon ("Old School!")

3 Firebolt
4 Call of The Herd
4 Fires Of Yavimaya
3 Ghitu Fire/Urzas Rage
2 Beast Attack

2 Barbarian Ring
4 Mossfire Valley
4 Karplusan Forest
4 Mountain
9 Forest
(23 land)

This version is very GR, its the basis from which I`m working before deciding how much I need a splash, and is so what the splash should be.

Gizmo's deck looks good.

In regards to Ivy Elemental, I just don't like this guy. For 5 mana you can get a 7/7 trampler, a 5/5 trampler, a 4/4 instant twice, or a 4/4 Ivy with no evasion.

Wow,

I am surprised. I thought David would tell me to move on.

That version looks good to me. I'll give it a try. Thanks

Grif:

Decimate looks so restrictive I wonder if it would be any good
in Type II. I do think it could be a good MP card. Maybe one
per R/G deck.

Saproling Symbosis might be fun though.

Personally I like F/I over A/B but just my preference.

Thanks

Mike,

Out with no evasion. In with something better. Thanks

Mox,

:D

Decimate,

Yeah, it looked OK at first, but then... eh maybe not.

What do you think of Krosan Beast? Any good or no?
I would tend to say no but... maybe, I don't know

I have no idea.

Its probably a janky rare.

Does it have Trample? I can't remember.

I was going to say Beast Attack in Fires. Replaces Burst, IMHO.

Krosan Beast lacks trample.

I don't think Krosan Beast is bad, I just don't think he fits in fires for the same reason as the elemental. An 8/8 for 4 mana can be all bad. Now if there were a way to give him shadow...:D

Do you think it would be worth splashing white to have access to Rith and/or the Mystic Enforcer? This way your Thornscapes can kick white, which could be useful against Millstone and maybe Static Orb if the person playing it doesn't know what they are doing. Order/Chaos could be interesting to. I don't know, just some thoughts.

Decimate I think will be relegated to MP games, I just can't see it being played in a 1 v 1 no matter what the deck style. However in MP it can be a mighty big wrecking ball to swing around.

R/G/W Fires for gits and shiggles
4 Birds Of Paradise
4 Thornscape Familiar
4 Kavu Titan
3 Thornscape Battlemage
2 Flametongue Kavu
2 Shivan Wurm
2 Mystic Enforcer
1 Rith, the painbringer

3 Firebolt
3 Call of The Herd
2 Order/Chaos
4 Fires Of Yavimaya (what's this doing in here)
3 Ghitu Fire/Urzas Rage

4 Karplusan Forest
3 Brushland
3 Forges
4 Mountain
7 Forest
2 Plains

The mana looks painful, but its sort of interesting I guess.

Re: Duel

I've though about it but I'm not sure what your getting at.

Eladamri's Call buts the card in your hand.

Take Fire/Ice out. You should have 2 Shivan Wurm's in your deck. You should have 4 Rages in your deck also. I know the Rages are hard to get though. Maybe some Ghitu Fire also.
