This guy seems really good, at least in the casual setting anyway. With Shreiking Drake, you have a way to flip him for 4 mana (bouncing the drake each time), cloud of fairies adds to the fun. He makes bounce friggity amazing, so Snap works. Can we build a deck around this guy/essence?

4 Erayo

2 Shrieking Drake
4 Cloud of Fairies
4 Flying Men
4 Manta Riders

1/4 Frantic Search (depending on format
4 Brainstorm
3 Rhystic Study

4 Snap
4 Unsummon
2 Arcane lab

Xx Island

Worth looking at?

Two tops (4 colorless mana, four activations back and forth with library), Erayo and Rule of Law.

Nope, not my idea. Check out Wizards.com today.

Erayo was played at regionals AND made a Top 8 appearance: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgevent/regionals05/Columbus
Cool deck. I like it when I see such off beat ('rogue') decks reach T8.

Other surprising decks:

-Medium Green: a lot of versions, but I liked one particularly. It had jukai messenger (1/1 forestwalk) & blanchwood armor maindec, 1st place! :)

-MBC (mono black control): damping matrix & night of soul's betrayal together stop a lot of nastyness (if I had partcipated, I would have played something like this)

-Staff-Go (see http://www.starcitygames.com/php/news/article/9982.html for a tournament report): gets Darksteel Colossus in play with proteus staff

-Blazing Saddles: blazing shoal with myojin of inifinate rage for teh win (2nd place actually). Someone actually did this combo good. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.!

-a red deck with Cosmic Larva and War Elemental maindeck and it used Fractured Loyalty as an sideboard answer against fatties. Lightning Greaves was also in the deck(report: http://www.starcitygames.com/php/news/article/9977.html)

Joreal, where did Joshie Green (the Forest Walking, Blanchwood armor deck) win?

Very, very similar to the deck I've been playing (no Regionals though, didn't have a chance to go). It's based on Joshie Green.

24 Forest

Creatures - 24

4 Jukai Messenger
4 Rushwood Dryad
4 Vine Trellis
4 Troll Ascetic
4 Kodama of the North Tree
4 Iwamori of the Open Fist

Spells and Equipment - 12

4 Umezawa's Jitte
4 Blanchwood Armor
4 Might of Oaks

Sideboard

4 Wear Away
4 Defense Grid
4 Arashi
3 Sword of Light and Shadow

The deck is blazing fast against Tooth or any deck that drops an early forest. It manages to fight Red, especially with Defense Grid and life gain. MUC is always a problem with Bribery and Shackles. Rats are a mess, but the SoLS helps. White Weenie flyers .... better draw Arashi and channel him.
