Magi-Nation is actually a decent game. Too bad it never really caught on. I think a lot of it had to do with their card distribution.
I also know one of the designers and know that there were some internal politics involved in the creation process. For example, one of the "executives" wanted to make "vanilla" creatures. Anyone who knows how to play Magi-Nation should know why this is a useless idea.

You can have up to 3 of any one card. As far as I know, there aren't any restrictions.
