The Tentacled One
Here's another deck built to milk the points system in the West Coast Commander League. Specifically I earned points for deploying snow permanents, for controlling several creature types among my creatures, for making squirrel tokens, for making a bear fight a creature with 6 or more toughness and win, and for looping a spell with Morbid.
The primary win condition in this deck is Aluren, a card I haven't used very much over the years despite owning it since forever and being a real fan of how combotastic it can be.
As has been typical for my WCCL decks lately, this was generally successful. I didn't break any records on points, but I should have put myself in contention for the most points of the day (not sure if I got it yet at this point, as I haven't been told the final scores). But this is also the second week in a row in which I'm a bit disappointed with my own deckbuilding. Actual performance was fine, but this one and the Goblins one were a bit rushed and it felt like I made some silly deck construction mistakes that should be beneath me at this point.
