A "humbled" set...

I'll just be putting here some of my ideas for some cards and abilities I've made over the years of playing. You could criticize the cards for all I care. I'll be adding to this thread more cards as time passes by.

Here's a cycle of "puppets":

Puppet Knight 2W
Creature - Knight
First Strike
2: Untap Puppet Knight. Puppet Knight deals no combat damage this turn. Any player may play this ability.
"With these strings, you're harmless..." -Puppet Master
3/3

Puppet Drake 2U
Creature - Drake
Flying
2: Tap or untap Puppet Drake. Any player may play this ability.
"With these strings, you're useless..." -Puppet Master
3/3

Puppet Shocker 2R
Creature - Elemental
Haste
2: Puppet Shocker looses Haste and can't block this turn. Any player may play this ability.
"With these strings, no more will you go faster..." -Puppet Master
3/3

Puppet Enforcer 2B
Creature - Horror
Puppet Enforcer can't be blocked except by Artifact and Black creatures.
2: Put a -1/-1 counter on Puppet Enforcer. Any player may play this ability.
"With these strings, you're also weaker..." -Puppet Master
3/3

Puppet Beast 2G
Creature - Beast
Trample
2: Untap and gain control of Puppet Beast. Any player may play this ability.
"And, with these same strings, you'll be mine..." -Puppet Master
3/3

There you go, I have more, I just don't have the time.

With those strings, every card there sucks.

Cool concept, terrible cards

Thanks for the modest view point MrXarvox.

Here are the "cool" Enchant - Creature cards:

Inner Spirit 1WW
Enchant - Creature
Enchanted creature can't attack, block, or use any abilities requiring and activation cost.
Put into play under enchanted creature's controller a Spirit token. Treat that token as a 5/5 White creature. If enchanted creature or Inner Spirit leaves play, that token is sacrificed.

Inner Activity 1UU
Enchant - Creature
As Inner Activity comes to play, put a Reflection token into play under enchanted creature's controller. Treat that token as a copy of enchanted creature. If enchanted creature or Inner Activity leaves play, that token is sacrificed.

Inner Lust 1RR
Enchant - Creature
Enchanted creature's power becomes 6. That creature gains Trample. That creature is sacrificed at the end of its controller’s turn.

Inner Darkness 1BB
Enchant - Creature
At the beginning of your upkeep step, put a -1/-1 counter on enchanted creature, and that creature's controller looses 1 life and you gain 1 life.

Inner Confidence 1GG
Enchant - Creature
Enchanted creature becomes the color of your choice. Enchanted creature gains "Tap: Add 1 mana of any one color to your mana pool." If Inner Confidence leaves play, enchanted creature becomes its original color and looses the ability granted by Inner Confidence.

Thanks Ademis22. The Staffs are kind of crazy, aren't they? I think they would be better off if they cost 4 mana; how would that sound? Staff of the Chosen, however, should cost 6 mana, since it could be used very, very effectively with any kind of Legendary creature.

I'll edit my post to "fix" the cards.

Here are more "random" ideas:

Gust of Wind 2WW
Instant
Remove all permanents target player
controls from the game and return them
into play under owner's control at the
end of the turn.

Grave Bound 3B
Instant
Destroy all creatures brought into play this turn.
“If you’re not here, never will you be.” –K

Overkill 1R
Instant

If you deal that damage to a player, after you deal the damage,
if that player has 2 or less life, deal an additional 2 damage to that player.
“Too much?” -K

Metamorphose 3G
Instant
Target creature gains +7/+7 and Trample
until end of the turn. That creature
gains –2/-2 for each other creature
you control.
“Instant reaction; instant loss.” –K

Supernatural Event 2UU
Enchantment
As Supernatural Event comes to play, put a
Curse counter on each Artifact, Creature, and Land.
2UU, sacrifice Supernatural Event: Return
each permanent with a Curse counter on it back to owner’s hand.

Man you really seem to like these cycles, eh? Keep 'em coming, these are great :D

I think maybe the erratics are a tad powerful maybe when they use their abilities you remove a counter

K

K

Guest
Well, Ademis, if they remove a counter, they wouldn't be original cards. They'd be like all those other cards that remove a counter for an effect. I think you might be right about them being a bit too powerful though. Maybe they should experience a bit more before obtaining the ability; like make the counter limit 3; this would make it a lot harder than it looks.

I will, once again, edit my post to revise the cards.

T

terzarima

Guest
That would work great, that or increase their casting cost so you couldn't get these out too fast and reach the counter limit, also they aren't too powerful becuase you still have to pay 2 of the colour of mana for their activation cost for the ability to actually work, yes my friend this is some good work. :)

You know, I'm begging to wonder that myself, people just seem a little around the Cpa lately, must be the winter season..

That mask and dawn is a very intruiging idea, however you could more than one legend in then, like Karn or 4 Teferi's Island (hmm possibilities) as much as I would like it in, I don't really think it would fit in as much, one legend like dawn with that ability is good though.

K

K

I think you misunderstood the Mask of the Chosen do to my poor wording. It is supposed to let you play any Legend, not just Legendary permanents.
