    Erika Shiragami [EDH]

Lost my first game with this one when I had a slow start and no answers to anything. One of my opponents ramped and rushed out a Narset Transcendent, ticked the planeswalker up and used its ultimate, ending the game uneventfully. Second game, I had a slightly better start, but not a great one...

    Your Stuff Gets Raptured [EDH]

Won another game. It got pretty involved with all players jostling for advantage from different angles. I was playing a pretty defensive role at first, and it worked well enough that I wasn't the main target until it started to become too late. Cards like Rhystic Study and Mother of Runes ate...

    Old-Fashioned Treadmill [EDH]

This one has done better than expected. Ran out of time in my last game, so technically it was a draw. But I was up against overwhelming board states and I liked my chances. Sunstone would have bought me enough time to mill my opponents out.

    Goblin Lives Matter [EDH]

All hail Goblin King! Mountainwalk let Warren Instigator get past blockers, which pushed out more goblins. I briefly hit a snag, but Skullclamp on a couple of tokens from Dragon Fodder did the trick. Also, Goblin Sledder saved most of my team from global -3/-3.

    WotC now banning "racist" cards

This topic is kinda sorta back? I mean, not really, but it has resurfaced in a weird way. I wasn't sure whether to start a new thread or not... It's been two years and no further card were added to the naughty list. In hindsight, I'm not sure why I thought that more would come of this. I mean...

    Erika Shiragami [EDH]

Biollante is a monster that is part Godzilla, part rose, part dead lady. Makes sense, right? Nethroi is a monster that is part cat, part nightmare, and part beast. Somehow, Biollante is also Nethroi. I don't make the rules. There aren't any great commanders for W/B/G Pattern Rector shenanigans...

    Magic Memories: Karmic Guide

Since 2019, I've been building a lot of EDH decks. Some of those have had Karmic Guide... Uncle Stephen's Tub-'o-Lard This deck didn't really work out for me anyway, but the idea was that between Sneak Attack, Greater Good, Doomgape, and stuff my opponents would be doing, that I'd be getting...

    Your Stuff Gets Raptured [EDH]

Played this one once. Initially, Lady Evangela protected me, but I started to fall behind on board position, then someone's Displacement Wave bounced all my enchantments. I ate a couple of attacks while redeploying enchantments and getting Serra's Sanctum to produce more mana again, but saw that...

    Old-Fashioned Treadmill [EDH]

Wound up in a position where I could probably kill either of two opponents with Guiltfeeder, but the one I didn't attack would kill me to eliminate me as a threat. Splitting the difference got me killed anyway and the game continued for a few turns without me, and of course the player I wasn't...

It Ain't Easy Being Snakes [EDH]

It's been a while. Yes, I still break this one out on occasion. And yes, I still have yet to actually win a game with it. Still fun, though.

    Goblin Lives Matter [EDH]

Played this one yesterday for my last game of the night. I kept a one-land hand because it had Goblin Lackey and Mana Crypt. That paid off, as I ended up getting Goblin Warchief and Krenko, Mob Boss both out on turn 2. Krenko's tokens flooded the board and won the game. I had some preparations...

    Bless This Mess [EDH]

And now we're on week 3 of this deck continuing to make me sad. Will I give it one more go? Not sure yet.

    Your Stuff Gets Raptured [EDH]

"As she grew, she learned to share her rapture with others." The idea behind this deck is to fill the graveyard and set up Replenish or a similar spell to put Opalescence + Parallax Wave + Parallax Tide + Parallax Nexus out. My opponents cards get raptured. It's my cards that are left behind...

    Magic Memories: Karmic Guide

I already appreciated Karmic Guide well before 2014, but that was when I began using the card in EDH. Some of that is archived in this thread, but not very well. Karmic Guide was in the very earliest test builds of that deck and remained throughout the evolution of my Karador deck, into the...

    Old-Fashioned Treadmill [EDH]

Only played this deck once so far, but it already got to do its thing. I got Nemesis of Reason going and there was some removal slinging around the table with all of us being affected at one point or another. There was a Rhys the Exiled deck that threatened to win the most, but was also getting...

    Party Hard [EDH]

On a lark, I partnered up with a player who has his own Party deck (Burakos, Party Leader & Haunted One). We were dispatched on turn four by a combo setup in our first game. Second game, I used Ramunap Excavator + Strip Mine to shut down the manascrewed opponent, which let us eventually...

    Reality Check [EDH]

This deck mostly just keeps winning. I'll dismantle it soon, I think. Won enough games, for sure.

    Bless This Mess [EDH]

Oof. This one continues to disappoint. I had high hopes for Emiel. I could just be getting unlucky, but I might have botched the deck construction on this one, too. Worth considering...

    Old-Fashioned Treadmill [EDH]

Mostly, I just wanted to use Eater of the Dead alongside Phenax. But this deck has the original Millstone, so it's totally authentic stuff. I was missing some cards that I had the notion to run, so I might pick those up and do a different mill deck at a later date. We'll see. Commander 1...

    Magic Memories: Karmic Guide

Of course lately I've been making use of Karmic Guide in my EDH decks, but I was a fan of the card long before I made the transition to almost exclusively playing EDH instead of real Magic formats. I've experimented with Pattern Rector decks in multiple formats over the years, and the archetype...
