Unfortunately my third draft deck had powerful
cards but bad mana,
7 Island 6 Plains 5 Swamp,
and my 1-3 with that gave me no chance
at T64.

Beat Ryan Fuller on the feature table, which was good
fun, quite a good report of that match on the Sideboard.

Played the same guy (a Belgian called Gert) three
times , winning every one !
He wasn't that happy about this.

Kai is amazing btw.

Right now, he's 2'nd place (after 12 rounds), with 3 feature matches (going 2-1 in them), and they followed his draft. (btw, this is all at http://www.sideboard.com , under European Championships.) Go John!! :D

Of course you realize that our friend John`O has fooled everyone with a clever ruse. He is planning on taking Worlds with his latest metagame-breaking Deck of Destruction and Power! (Remember Trinity?)

Prepare to bow before your new king!

And, uhm, Good Luck John!

I think that finishing 6th isnt too shabby, hey you cant win every time. And the money should cover his expenses ...

Good Job John O'

Two more remarks about the european championships:

Second place went to a rogue mono red burn type deck,
No "Fires" in the top 8.

Thanks for the support !

I particularly enjoyed beating down the UW Story Circle
mages with my Blind Seers.
Also drafting my 5 colour decks.

The Canadian guy Dave who finished second really did
just turn up out of the blue, and given that
he didn't know anybody ended up sleeping on a park bench
the night before.
One of the great things about this game is that anyone
with some skill and some practice with a run of luck
can end up playing with the best in the world in
a few weeks.
(and making more money from Magic than his normal Studenting)
