Suicide Green

I know!

Everybody has done Stompy to death but I've
been playing around with the standard deck
list some and would like some input on this
version.

Suicide Green

4 River Boa
4 Wild Dogs
4 Elvish Lyrist
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Pouncing Jaguar
4 Skyshroud Ridgeback
3 Albino Troll

4 Rancor
4 Scent of Ivy
3 Natures Resurgence
1 Pack Hunt

14 Forest
4 Land Grant
3 Gaea's Cradle

The Natures Resurgence refills my hand after
an Earthquake or Keg. Yes, it works for both
players but I should have more creatures in
my graveyard by turn four so I usually can
benefit more from it.

Scent of Ivy might be inferior to Seal of
Strength, Giant Growth and Symbiosis but it
has some synergy in this version of Stompy.

Pact Hunt is an interesting addition to any
deck but I really like the Ancestral Tutor
effect in this deck.

All comments and suggestions are welcome.

Thanx

I would take out some lryists and scent of ivys in favor of more pack hunts (love that card!), albino trolls, and more pump (Giant growth, the seal, might of oaks, and maybe invigoate?)I've never played the latest green speed and im just babbiling though.

You might want to cycle out some land for wall's of roots that will provide mana when you need it and blockers when you need them.

Maybe some deranged hermits, they combo nicely with the gaea's cradles and grant 4 creatures for 1 card. I know that they are a bit expensive but it's worth a shot.

Maybe Fecundity, it basically allows you to replace each critter with a card in hand that will likely be a critter.

You might consider a spell shaper or 2 to deal with land draws later in the game.

Foundation & Gryphonclaw, thanks for the
suggestions. Its taken me awhile to get back
to your replys. Sorry about that.

I've been play testing the deck some more but
it doesn't seem to be working out the way I
had hoped. I finally broke down and made it
more traditional, like you suggested. Here
is the new deck list.

Suicide Green
4 River Boa
4 Wild Dogs
4 Elvish Lyrist
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Pouncing Jaguar
4 Skyshroud Ridgeback
3 Albino Troll

4 Rancor
4 Giant Growth
3 Might of Oaks
1 Pack Hunt

14 Forest
4 Land Grant
3 Gaea's Cradle

That decklist is better for the quick kill.
It doesn't have much diversity but suicide
is all about the quick kill.

Moving on to something new, does anyone have
a deck built with Blastoderm? It seems like
a really powerful card. I haven't seen any
deck using him. An untargetable 5/5 for 2GG
has to be good. The biggest problem seems to
be what kind of deck to play him in. You
can't really use Stompy. I'm not sure how to
build a deck around him, but I have a couple
of decklist below. They aren't very good but
its a place to start. All comments and
suggestions are welcome.

Bone, Thugs and Harmony
4 Blastoderm
4 Birds of Paradise
3 Elvish Lyrist
3 Bone Shredder
2 Ticking Gnomes
2 Uktabi Orangutan

4 Duress
4 Worldly Tutor
3 Vendetta
2 Parallax Nexus
2 Seal of Doom
2 Yawgmoth's Will
1 Creeping Mold

9 Forest
8 Swamp
3 Treetop Village
2 Dust Bowl
2 Thran Quarry

LDG v2.o (Land Denial Green)
4 Blastoderm
4 Llanowar Elves
3 Rofello's
3 Elvish Lyrist
2 Deranged Hermit
1 Skyshroud Poacher

4 Worldly Tutor
4 Creeping Mold
3 Exploration
3 Fallow Earth
3 Tangled Wire
2 Plow Under

17 Forest
3 Rishadan Port
3 Treetop Village
1 Gaea's Cradle

Upsetting news, captain: Blstoderm would be BETTER if it weren't untargetable. I removed it from my green stompy becasue green stompy runs on giant growths/rancors and this cannot be affected by them. Sure, it's a potential 15 damage, but three chump blocks serve just as well. If blastoderm could be the target of spells and abilities, I'd put four in my green stomp. (never mind the CC)

I agree with superguy. Blastoderm works best with cards like stampede driver or in extended, with overrun. Blastoderm is a wrecking machine in limited, since they can't use cards such as kor haven, predator, or topple on him, but he's not that much use in a constructed environment. Maybe mbc green decks will use it.
