Look! Another waylay!

I guess my Waylay article out front isn't going to be so outdated after all! Yeah. Anyway, I don't think these can be real. Would they sneak this kind of card out without some serious errata. This card makes Waylay look like a vanilla creature. Think about it the way Waylay was used. Not only will you be able to pull the Waylay trick, but you can pull it off at the end of your opponent's first or second turn! Jumpin' Jesus on Pogo Stick!

That's complete Bull$h*t. WOTC wouldn't put anything like those nemesis cards out.

unless they didn't change Mike long's card...

remember the 1/1 for U1 that allowed you to pay U and look through the opponant's deck if unblocked and remove a card from the game? I hope they changed it's casting cost and put "play this ability only once a turn" on it.

I'm not sure, but doesn't this wording make it work like a waylay that you don't have to pay for? And with tourney decks these days not have flyers, its 4 damage for tapping a creature!!

Ok, so it isn't as good as waylay in all aspects, but its virtually free! They player can tap out and cast a creature. EOT tap the creature and drop this thing!

Well, according to MTG News, Parallax Wave and Angelic Favor are confirmed cards. I sure hope the damn thing is written correctly so that it can't be cast during the end step so we don't have more of this crap to argue about. And on a side note, why couldn't they have just errata'd Waylay so it couldn't be cast during the end step only? Is that too hard? At least you could still enchant the damn thing that way! And a Fervor/Waylay/Rancor combo would have been cool for anyone that could pull it off on turn four! Jee, not every single color couldn't have dealt with that, huh?

I think that Angelic Favor (they spelled Favour wrong!) is R&D/WotC's chance to fix this End Step problem once and for all - or another chance for White Weenie to dominate the game...

You'll finally know if wotc are a bunch of money grabbing dip shits if they release that angelic favour card as it is and make it RARE. Thus everyone will scrabble for them making them worth a buttt load and giving wotc money before it gets errated. If it stays the way it is...watch out for its rarity and you'll know if wotc released tolarion academy with the intention of ra\king in money

Nova brings up a very good point there. If it is released as it, and is a rare, how many people are going to scream 'Waylay!!'. Then WotC will probably never make an official statement regarding its errata. Then, suddenly, errata!

Well, it makes sense. I think that they have to put out at least one Rare that can be abused and allow a colour to dominate durring each set. People read about, find combos or other ways to win w/ them and then two weeks after the set's release the card becomes banned/restricted/errata'd. It's the nature of their marketting strategy. It sells cards, it keeps people addicted, it makes money...and as always, we don't have to follow those restrictions/bannings/erratae if we're just playing in our homes on our dining room tables...

Hey Ed, fresh from Topdeck. Angelic Favor is a card in Nemesis. But guess what... "Can only be cast during the combat step." was added by R&D. Why the hell can't they fix the end step or put "Can't be cast at any time during the end step." That would fix it and allow me to use the Tahngarth Vanguard card (All creatures you control have haste.) with perpetual enchantments or hell, even use Mark of Fury, God forbid we use the crappy enchantments for some good use!

For your information everybody, I've dashed off an email to Wizards again about this. Here it is for all of you to see so you know:

In regards to the article on Nemesis in the latest Topdeck issue, I would like to inquire as to why Angelic Favor has been issued the "Can only be played during combat." line? Why can't Waylay and Angelic Favor be errata'd to say "Cannot be cast at any time during the end step." I'm not a rules guru so I'm not sure why this option was not taken originally, but I would have liked to played the deck I was planning that would have let me get Fervor/Mask of Fury into play or use the Vanguard Tahngarth card along with perpetual enchantments like Rancor. Wouldn't it have been nice to let people use the cards as they were originally intended (you COULD cast enchantments on them before). That WOULD have fit with your philosophy or restoring cards to the original intention of use before the 6th Edition and allowed casual players like me to not have to argue that I wouldn't pull the end of turn trick with other, more competitive players while playing with different cards such as Waylay and Angelic Favor. Please reconsider what you have done with these two cards. I'm not asking for them to dominate the tournament scene. I just want to be able to cast Mask of Fury and Rancor on them with a Fervor in play. Is that too much to ask?
If my proposition for errata'ing Waylay and Angelic Favor to say, "Can't be cast at any time during the end step." is a rules problem, I really would like to know why. A simple change for VIIth Edition could be simply:

"Durring the End of Turn Step all 'at end of turn' effects are resolved. If your handsize exceeds seven cards you must discard down to seven cards. No other effects may be played durring this time."

Well, what can I say? I like simplicity. I can't think of any real way that could be abused...if I were playing w/ friends I would make it a "house" rule.

As for Pokecoverage, this is why I stopped reading InQuest(Gamer). Every issue had that annoying yellow rat on the cover and no longer wanted anything to do w/ it...
