4 Arcbound Stinger
3 Arcbound Lancer
2 Arcbound Overseer
3 Arcbound Crusher
2 Arcbound Fiend
2 Arcbound Reclaimer
4 Rust Elemental
2 Triskelion
4 Disciple of the Vault
3 Myr Retriever
4 Pyrite Spellbomb
2 Skeleton Shard
4 Vault of the Whispers
4 Great Furnace
6 Mountain
12 Swamp

The deck is pretty straight-forward. It plays the Arcbound guys and then uses Rust Elemental to kill them off and throw the counters on either Rusty or a Triskelion. I can get them back using the Myr Retrievers, the Skeleton Shards, or the Reclaimer.

This deck type just screams it!@!...

Hey Steve, long time no see!

Arcbound Ravager is a must due to his ability to sacrifice modular creatures at instant speed, and his combo-liciousness with the Reclaimer. It's much less dangerous and more controllable than Rust Elemental, and is a modular creature as well.

The Arcbound Slith is a solid choice as well. Maybe instead of the Lancer? First-strike is nice, but is it worth 7 mana?

Consider Shrapnel Blast too, as it can do some nasty combat math tricks with the arcbounds.

Other ideas include Trash for Treasue, and Equipment-base evasion (Loxodon Warhammer, Whispersilk Cloak) just in one of your boys is a 12/12 with no way of getting through.

Hope this helps!

You know, Skullclamp is the best artifact in Darksteel. Well, I know.

You need 4 Arcbound Ravager no questions. Also Blinkmoth Nexus is a nice Modular target that flies and is immune to sorcery removal. I think the people at SCG's have found Myr Retriever superior to Arcbound Reclaimer.

Red is the best color for Shrapnel Blast and Trash for Treasure (you can sac land to get back uber stuff like Triskelion). Black is nice for Skeleton Shard and Disciple of the Vault. Blue is nice for Thoughtcast and Thirst for Knowledge but Skullclamp totally outclasses it.

And of course, Pentavus is really fun. With Arcbound Crusher and Disciple of the Vault.

This would be my initial build and I'd have to play test it from there, though I think it probably underuses the power of Trike.

4 Arcbound Ravager

Crusher works better than froggy, with Chamber.

Here are some more ideas for Arcbound Block Decks. They are
pretty much all the same deck. They Should be cheap to build and
hopefully good enough to even win a few games.

Arcbound Red
-----------------
4 Arcbound Worker
4 Arcbound Stinger
4 Arcbound Ravager
4 Arcbound Slith
3 Arcbound Crusher
2 Myr Enforcer

4 Genesis Chamber
4 Skullclamp
4 Flamebreak
4 Shrapnel Blast

4 Blinkmoth Nexus
4 Darksteel Citadel
4 Great Furnace
11 Mountain

Arcbound Black
----------------
4 Arcbound Worker
4 Arcbound Stinger
4 Arcbound Ravager
4 Arcbound Slith
3 Arcbound Crusher
2 Myr Enforcer

4 Genesis Chamber
4 Disciples of the Vault
4 Echoing Decay
4 Skullclamp

4 Blinkmoth Nexus
4 Darksteel Citadel
4 Vault of Whispers
11 Swamp

Arcbound White
-----------------
4 Arcbound Worker
4 Arcbound Stinger
4 Arcbound Ravager
4 Arcbound Slith
3 Arcbound Crusher
2 Myr Enforcer

4 Genesis Chamber
4 Skullclamp
4 Razor Barrier
4 Second Sunrise

Try using some of the Urza's lands to speed it up a little. Or Seething Song.

Even Green can have an Arcbound deck :D

Arcbound Green
-----------------
4 Arcbound Worker
4 Arcbound Stinger
4 Arcbound Ravager
4 Arcbound Slith
3 Arcbound Crusher

4 Genesis Chamber
4 Skullclamp
4 Fangren Firstborn(+1+1 counters)
4 Viridian Zealot
2 Lightning Greaves

4 Blinkmoth Nexus
4 Darksteel Citadel
4 Tale of Tree's
11 Forest

I added Arcbound crusher to the decklist because it works
better with the Chamber. Also, Rust Elemental might work better
than Enforcer, since it can fly over and myr tokens can be sacked
to it.

The Arcbound are so weak though. I've been playing around with them cos they looked interesting, but they simply aren't cost effective. You end up playing tons of 2cc 1/1 creatures, which are just hopeless.

If your opponent ever plans on attacking you with anything larger than a Mons Goblin Raider, he just flattens you.

You really need to have lots of creature removal to control their bad guys while you build up your arcbound tokens.

Have you thought of Barter In Blood and Myr Retriever?

the arcbound might take time to build up in standard... but they run pretty quick in extended (what doesn't)...

All it really takes is an ensnaring Bridge to get you where you need to be..;)

Actually, playing with them, the arcbounds are pretty good, you just need to remember that you don't need to go nuts with 'em. The cost effective ones are:

Worker
Stinger
Slith
Ravager

What you need to do is combine them with other cost effective creatures. Ornithopter and Darksteel Brute seem like the best way to go here. Animating a darksteel brute in response to mass removal? Bah-roken.

No, because Mowgli was the boy from Neverending Story.

If you meant Mogwai, then yeah. It's also my cat.

Wasn't Sebastian the boy from Neverending Story? Or did the name change between the book and the movie?

Sebastian is the boy from Neverending Story, Mowgli is the boy from The Jungle Book. Ahh, nothing like having a head full of trivia :)

Spawning Pit works great with the modular guys, giving you a way to sac the smaller ones that have become useless so you can move the counters around, and also putting new arti-creatures into play to beef up the Crusher, all at instant speed! And if you are using a Reclaimer, just wash, rinse, repeat ;)

I'm trying a modular deck with a Broodstar to take added advantage of all those artifacts running around.

The modular broodstar sounds decent... and keeps him alive if they start getting rid of artifacts...

Glad we got that trivial thing straightened out...;)
