This thread got me working on a infinite turn deck using spellweaver's helix.

If I remember correctly in ran:

4 Spellweaver Helix
4 Insidous Dreams (to get the scorceries in the graveyard)
4 Relearn
4 Elvish Cache
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Regrowth
4 Time Stretch
3 Time Warp
X colorless mana artifacts
2 Volley of Boulders - Kill
2 Crush of Wurms - Kill

And a few other goodies. It wasn't too hard to setup. I think it usually went off around the 6th turn or so.

Well, Insidious Dreams requires that you either have the Sorceries in hand to go off, or you get them and another Dreams with the first, wait to draw them, and then do it again. In the meantime, a single shuffle screws you up.

I would say, if you're going to abuse it, do it in Extended, first and foremost; post-banning.

4x Intuition
4x Brainstorm
4x Careful Study

4x Spellweaver Helix

2x Time Stretch
4x Hammer of Bogardan
4x Firebolt
4x Seal of Fire
4x Mana Leak
4x Daze

I think that this lacks something; too simple, maybe? But it IS effective. Grab a Hammer and a Time Stretch with the Helix, then recurse another Hammer every other turn. It can go off relatively slowly only, though. Which is unfortunate. Chrome Mox/Mox Diamonds might be very good in here, as well as Talismans or something.

The good thing is, after bannings, Extended is hella-slow, so there is little to worry about other than RDW and WW. Hence the cheap disruption.

I'm worried about Affinity, though...

For the record:

Exalted Angels are not White Weenies...

I am actually glad to see you play white weenie - and not some merfolk deck...

do you by chance have any second sunrises in your white weenie deck?...

Yeah, I already suggested Quiet Spec + Crush of Wurms.

I suggested Denying wind because I'm looking for a sorcery to "reanimate," that is, use the Helix to get around its huge casting cost. Getting off a Denying Wind quickly can win the game in some match-ups, and getting it off two or three times will usually win most match-ups. You don't play Denying Wind so you can deck anybody, you play it so you can get all the win conditions out of their deck.

And this is the CPA, right? I suggested Denying Wind because its unusal. Obviously Spec/Wurm or Hammer/Warp are more efficient options, but getting Denying Wind to work is more fun

I Weaved together a Crush of Wurms and Chatter of the Squirrel. My opponent had played Mass Hysteria, so on turn 4 I drop the Helix and play a Chatter to hit him for 18 putting him at 1.

It works great in my Mesmeric Orb deck. Usually I Weave something like Fabricate + Chatter or Deep Anal + Argivian Restoration.

This deck Wishes for a Burning Wish to make a Time Warp/Burning Wish/Spellweaver Helix into a 1[R] Time Warp.

Some Fun, it seems.

Is there any "take an extra turn" card in Standard? Probably not... but it's an interesting idea I thought. It'd be kinda fun, too...

I think the Japanese also made a deck around this card that used green, but I cannot remember... Oh well.

The Japanese deck I believe used Quiet Speculation to Weave Chatter of the Squirrel and Crush of Wurms.

These decks would really love some lame sorceries like

Sparkle W
Sorcery
Gain 1 life and return Sparkle to its owner's hand.

Glance U
Sorcery
Look at the top card of your library and return Glance to owner's hand.

Vigor G
Sorcery
Add 1 to your mana pool and return Vigor to owner's hand.

Intuition is a good card to set up your GY. It allows you to do any Spellweaver Helix combo your little heart desires.

Run 4 Cheap-o sorcery, 4+?? Big-bomb sorcery, and 1 Gigapede.

At their EOT, Intuition for 1 cheap-o, 1 big-bomb, and 1 Gigapede.

It doesn't matter what they put in your hand, as you can discard the sorcery to the Gigapede during your upkeep, and then go off.

Something like this to start maybe

3 Gigapede
1 Anger
1 Wonder

4 SpellWeaver Helix
4 Dwell on the Past (to recycle your cheap-o sorceries)
4 Nature's Lore (gets dual lands, good cheap sorcery)
4 Intuition
4 Accumulated Knowledge
? Any Big Bombs (I'd recommend Crush of Wurms, Time Stretch)
1 Regrowth
4 Elven Cache

4 Trop Island
4 Taiga
4 Volc Island
4 Wooded Foothills

Tricks
- Intuition for Gigapede/bomb/cheap sorcery already in your hand
- Intuition for Wonder/Anger/Gigapede after a Crush of Wurms has already been Weaved.

That is pretty wrong with the wish...

"Glad Tempest runs out of extended this coming fall..."

;)

It's every three years. There are always 6-8 blocks in extended.

The rotation works like this:

When the 9th block comes into play, remove the oldest three blocks from the game or sacrifice the 9th block.
