OnBC: Zombie/Bidding

My Zombies deck is aggro main with Patriarch's Biddings side as I find the card next to worthless vs Tribal decks, although not totally (but mostly, he said unequivicatably ... darn flaky people!)

I don't know who Mons Johnson is, the name sounds familiar, but the fellow has one of the better Scourge articles around up at Star City, which I strongly encourage you to read, here:

http://www.starcitygames.com/php/news/expandnews.php?Article=5131

Personally, I grew tired of really bad decklists at Star City years ago, and if I check it more than twice a year I'm checking it a lot. I guess it's gotten better with articles like that. Anyway, here is a starting Zombies/Bidding decklist from that article that Mons stresses is only a first pass. Have fun with it!

Okay - After going through the article... it hit me that this actually hasn't been played yet...

and the blue black idea, is only hurtful to the deck...

If zombies are going to be run - they need ot run as a mono-color deck.

However - all you need to do is be able to get rid of the graveyard...

Here's my tidbit on making the beasts more viable - Animal Magnetism...

Here's my tidbit on removing a graveyard... entrails feaster, fade from memory, reminisce, wretch...

I'm just going to say what I noticed - zombie vs. zombie draws... in general of course... you don't want to draw - you want to win...

The only possible advantage would be to splash blue and run the reminisces...

There are so many options in other colors...

Eddie Anderson did the best at 15th
David Williams was 19th
The rest finished lower.
This archetype has a problem with Goblins and my BW Control, but RW Control has a very difficult time beating it.

here's my zombie deck i play online, it's all black and it does very well so far except against fast gobbo decks

2 cabal coffers
2 unholy grotto
16 swamp

4 chainers edict
4 innocent blood
2 patriarch's bidding
2 corrupt
1 call to the grave (only 1 i have)

4 noxious ghoul
4 gempalm polluter
4 soulless one
4 twisted abomination
2 graveborn muse
4 undead warchief
3 vengeful dead
2 nefashu

nothing like having 1 or 2 noxious ghoul in the graveyard and bidding him into play with all the others that sacrificed themselves to keep me from losing life
:p

Noxious Ghoul is sweet. Bringing a cupla Warchiefs back too is .... well, it's just not fair .... to your opponent.:)

Tell me, why no Rotlung Reanimators? Too slow for Type Two?

heh, it's sweet as all get out when you bid the ghouls into play and it wipes the board. it's even better in multipayer :D

i don't run rotlungs simply becuz it only works for cleric unless you can splash some blue to play artificial evolution.

Withered Wretch is a Cleric too. Vs Control, a simple 2/2 token is a thorn. They Vengeance and ... , oops !! Didn't sweep the board, did we, and us at low life and all? But don't mind me ... I have OnBC on the brain. For all I know your deck rocks in T2.

In OnBC, this archetype has serious issues with Goblins and BW Control maindecking 4 Withered Wretch.

Word is that this archetype is ripping up the e-league tourney.

It makes sense, because Maher's Wr deck, which lacks Exalted Angels, loses horribly to this archetype. Not even sure the angels would help. Anyway, BEcause Maher won, people are just netdecking it, which pretty much tells others to stray from Goblins and play Bidding. Next step: Stray back to Gobbos.

Only Lotus Mox and I know what to play in that regard ... a deck that beats all three ...BW Control.:)

What beats Zombie bidding - and B/W control...

R/W Soldiers...;)

Told you I've been working on it...

Mobilization and Aggravated Assault are just wrong...

Though the Assault has recently been pulled form the deck...

Goblins beat Zombie Bidding, and the mirror can beat BW Control. :)

According to the latest E-league results, Aggro Zombies can also beat Zombie Bidding, if the results of the finals in their latest championship are to be believed, in which 4 RW decks made Top 8 as well as a Form of the Dragon and MWC deck as well. A straight up Maher Detroit Champ's deck (RW w/o Exalteds) made Top 4 along with the Form. What, no Goblins? Here are the decks:

aggravated assault and wirewood channeler is the sickest combo when the channeler stays on the board. 4 llanowars, 4 channelers, some creature removal and one blaze is all ya need :D

Are you going solely by e-league? If so, is it a reliable indicator? I mean, do the people know what they're doing and is it a similiar indication of what people will play in real life?

I'm not familiar with it which is why I'm asking.

E-league gets trashed a lot by the better players, seeing as how anyone with a computer and no cards can play it. I don't like the (too good) computer randomization, myself. Then again, I'm very much a physical player. I prefer to play Constructed Magic only with real cards, or real proxies (!?), vs real players. If I want to Computer game, I'll play Homeworld or Diablo 2. Personal preference.

In spite of E-league's "rep", I'd still consider the results this close to the start of the season.
