... Red is so dumb

But, on the other hand, sometimes it just wins. I've been teaching people around here to play, herding newbies and handing out deck advice. Showing them how to design decks. The deck I use to teach new players is a moderately effective mono-red deck of the old sligh style.

Creatures: 28

3 Mogg Sentry
1 Grim Lavamancer (all I have)
4 Raging Goblin
4 Goblin Raider
4 Rage Weaver
2 Orcish Artillery
3 Ember Beast
4 Flametongue Kavu
3 Skizzik

Spells: 9
4 Volcanic Hammer
3 Ghitu Fire (urza's rage might be better, but I don't have those)
2 Shock/firebolt/random burn

Land: 23
2 Keldon Necropolis
4 Barbarian Ring
17 Mountain

I took it to a tournament and was shocked to find myself doing pretty well with it.... any suggestions for ways to improve it?

Here's a deck:

4 Raging Goblin
4 Mogg Sentry
4 Grim Lavamancer
4 Goblin Raiders
4 Flametongue Kavu

4 Reckless Charge
4 Firebolt
4 Volcanic Hammer
4 Urza's Rage
1 Grafted Skullcap

17 Mountain
4 Barbarian Ring
1 Petrified Field
1 Keldon Necropolis

Replacements for the Urza's Rage/Grim Lavamancers that you don't have:

3 Ghitu Fire
4 Fiery Temper

Duel, what do you think about hell-bent raider? The protection from white wont usually help, but I wonder if it's better than ember beast.

Why Rage Weaver? It doesn't DO anything in your deck.

Make him into Mad Dog instead.
